Is It Worth Fighting About?
Euodia and Syntyche were clearly believers. They were apparently in leadership in the church at Philippi. Paul said that they “contended at his side in the cause of the gospel.” But we know very little else about them, except that they didn’t get along. And so Paul called them out by name in his letter, pleading with them to “be of the same mind in the Lord.”
How sad that the only detail we know is that they couldn’t get along. Let’s not let it be true of us!

We are Ready to Move Forward with Refresh!
We are moving from the “money raising” phase to the actual physical remodeling phase. Starting on Monday, May 13, our worship center will have pews removed, carpet replaced, a suspended ceiling installed, new lights and fans put in, the stage rebuilt, and more!
So beginning on Sunday, May 19, we will meet in the gym, and it will be set up nicely for worship with new (and very comfortable) chairs, portable video screens, and an improved sound system.
We are excited for what God will do at ABC!

Baptized During Sunday's 11:00 am Service
Jazmin Warner was baptized during Sunday’s (May 5) 11:00 am service. She is the 9th baptism so far of 2024.
Baptism is an outward symbol of what God has done in our hearts. It is not what makes us a Christian. Instead, it is the Biblical way of showing the church and the world that we are believers in and followers of Jesus Christ.
If you are ready to be baptized, speak to one of our pastors. We will talk you through what it means and then we can schedule the baptism during any of our Sunday worship services!

Looking Forward to August!
Our church has watched many of the “Kendrick Brothers” movies in the theater, including War Room, Courageous, Fireproof, and more. And their latest movie, “The Forge” will be out in August.
Once again, we are renting a theater at Harkins (this time at Estrella Falls) and going together! We will make tickets available soon for the movie on Sunday evening, August 25, at 5:00 pm.
In the meantime, enjoy the trailer. You will see some familiar faces from the previous movies!
