Two weeks ago, we met and discussed the possibility of entering into a partnership with Alongside Ministry.  The heart of the agreement is selling them part of our property (the approximately 2 acres to the east of the MAC.)  Details haven’t been officially negotiated, but we anticipate receiving about $960,000, with Alongside Ministries paying for the subdividing of our property.  We would use the money to (1) pay off our mortgage, (2) set-aside money for future building and maintenance needs, and (3) use the money for future projects as approved by the church.

No action was taken; this was for informational purposes only.  

If we sell the property, Alongside Ministries anticipates using the land for offices, training classrooms, and transitional housing for those coming out of prison.  Alongside Ministries mentors men and women in prison and enters them into an intensive Christian discipleship ministry.  They have been highly successful, with 97% of their graduates getting out and staying ouf of prision.
