WEEKLY NEWS

April 23 - Easter 2025 is over but Jesus is still alive!

Share This Truth This Week! .

I have opinions.  Lots of opinions.  On almost everything, I have an opinion.

But I don’t want you to know my opinions.  And I don’t want you to spend all of your time sharing your opinions.  We have something much better to share.

So let’s take a few minutes to remind ourselves.  What is our message?  Easter is over, but Jesus is still alive.  Talk about it!

Pastor Jack

"I'm Mary of Magdala . . . ."

After the Cross, Mary Magdalene met Jesus at the empty tomb.  Her frustration turned to joy when she opened her eyes to see that the person talking to her was not a gardener, but was the risen Jesus.  He wasn’t dead; He was alive!

Watch this video as Mary (portrayed by Rebecca Black) tells her story.

The series ends this Sunday, with a visit by the Apostle John.  The entire series is based on John 11-21.  It’s a great passage, so if you haven’t read it yet, we highly recommend it!

IHELP Forced to Close for Summer

Unfortunately, our homeless ministry will need to shut down for the summer while we seek new churches and partners.

It began when our managing partner (Lutheran Social Services) lost some federal  grants and shut down their homeless ministries.  We were able to keep it going in April, but we are now forced to reorganize for a planned opening in the fall.

Volunteers get a few months off while we pray for additional partners and finances!

The Family is in Trouble!

The family is in serious trouble.  And since the family is the “ultimate building block,” we’re all in trouble.

Evidence is everywhere.  Homelessness increases when families don’t care for their own.  Children are without a solid foundation and pass on dysfunction to the next generation.  Financial issues increase because it’s hard to maintain two households when families break up.

It’s time to take a fresh look at key Bible passages about the family.  Join us beginning May 11 as we study these passages!
