“Rule” is probably not the best word for what I’m trying to say, but it communicates, for most of us have rules on the job, rules at home, and there are rules and laws in our communities.

I’m communicating in Sunday worship series, the principles, guideleines, expectations, and essentials for following Jesus?  In our current series, I’m teaching you the “how” and not just the necessity of following Jesus.

Knowing what to do is important, but knowing how to do it is necessary.  I had a friend who knew he was supposed to change the oil in his car.  But since he didn’t know how and didn’t know where to take it, he drove  over 35,000 miles before he changed it.  He could have–and maybe did–harm his engine by not knowing how to do it.  (You might think he wasn’t very smart, but he was a well-respected dentist!)

So don’t just know that you are supposed to follow Jesus.  Know how to do it!  Here is what we’ve studied and where we are going this week:

Rule #2 – Love Others (May 24)

Rule #3 – Shine His Light (This Coming Sunday, May 31)

It’s much too easy to say–as I often do–“Love God, Love People, and Follow Jesus.”  But there is much more to it, so I encourage you to pay close attention to this series.  If you’ve missed one, you can to to our worship page and watch the entire worship videos with both music and preaching.  If you prefer, you can go to our sermon page and listen to the sermon podcasts.  

I point you there not because I want you to hear “me,” but instead to see the truth of Scripture as we attempt to follow Jesus together.
