Words Matter

Angry and hateful words contribute to a culture of violence

Jesus made it clear that anger and words are every bit as wrong as murder.

If we truly are “Jesus People,” then we cannot condone or continue the anger which leads to hurtful words which often leads to violence.

We are called to be different!

Sunday's Baptisms & Children's Dedication

Baptism is the outward way we show that we have put our faith in Jesus.  It’s not what makes us a Christian; it is the way we publicly declare our faith.  And a dedication of a child is a commitment by parents to raise their children as followers of Jesus.

We enjoyed both celebrations in the 8:30 service on Sunday!  Watch the video!.

If you are ready to be baptized, let either one of our pastors know.

More Violence This Week!

Our nation saw more pollitically oriented violence this week.  We’ve seen it both from those on the right and the left ends of the political spectrum.

What will it take to stop it?

The following blog was written before the events of this last week.  It is both a study of what the Bible says about violence and offers suggestions from Pastor Jack on what our nation could do.

Special Called Business Meeting

We are calling a brief special called business meeting on Wednesday evening, June 18, at 6:30 pm in the MAC.  Special called business meetings are for a single purpose announced ahead of time.

This meeting will be to call Jorge Cuevas as the pastor of our Spanish Speaking congregation.  Our Spanish congregation voted last Sunday to call him, and we will vote to confirm that!  Classes will follow after the meeting.

The picture is a picture of Jorge and his wife Myrna.  Jorge is a licensed and ordained Southern Baptist Pastor and a permanent resident of the United States.
