Are We Afraid?

John 12 tells a great story . . . that then turns bad.

People believed in Jesus–even Jewish leaders believed in Jesus–but they were afraid to say so.

The same thing happens to beleivers today.  We know the truth about God, about Jesus, and about right-and-wrong, but we are often afraid to say so.  Are we afflicted with the same issue as the Jewish leaders?  Think about it, and listen in!

"I'm Mary . . . ."

Our current worship series, “On The Way to the Cross” features Bible characters telling their story.  These are all done by ABC members who will tell the story of people Jesus encountered on the way to the Cross.  The entire series is based on John 11-21.

Here’s a video from Sunday morning, March 30, of ABC member Hannah Phillips portraying Mary, the sister of Lazarus.

This coming Sunday, we will meet the disciple Peter, as he tells the story of the Last Supper.  

I Love The United States of America . . . But

I love my country, but there is a kingdom that is more important to me than the United States.  It’s God’s kingdom.

It’s not a lack of love for the United States.  Instead, it is a greater love for a kingdom that is not limited by physical borders or even time.

What Is Ordination / Licensing?

Ordination is a Biblical way of recognizing God’s call upon a life, and the “laying on of hands” is symbolic of the filling of the Holy Spirit on a pastor or a deacon’s life.

We invite you join us on Sunday as we ordain six new deacons:  Arturo Ayala, Kathy Majors, Joe Naylor, Jeremiah Pederson, Scott Snow, and Bill Whaley.

We wil also “license” Logan Wiles to the gospel ministry.  Licensing is the first step on the way to ordination for a pastor.   

Many good things happen in our church on our Wednesday “Family Night at Church!”  We share a good meal and deepen friendships.  We spend time in prayer.  Our children meet and study and prepare for ministry.  Our adults and teens study and learn from God’s word.  And our choir prepares to lead us in worship.  All groups are “open” for anyone to come!

We announced our need for meals for our homeless ministry on Sunday, and our members stepped up.  Every night for April is covered!  Please continue to keep us in prayer as our homless ministry is going through a time of transition!

Kidz Ministry Update

Parents I wanted to make sure you got this update! On Wednesday Night we have been practicing and putting together a play that we will be performing on Sunday Night. We really need to make sure that all the kiddos are at the church on Wednesday night  for practice. A second update is we are getting a text number for Kidz Min. Prayer Meeting Online and In Person!

We meet for prayer every Wednesdays at 5:30 pm in conjunction with our Wednesday meal.  We also have an online prayer group meeting on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm.  You can join prayer meeting via zoom by following this link.  

Parents of Kidz it is time to sign up for kamp!! Please click here and register. There will be information that you need like insurance and shot records. Please do not use your phone to try and register it doesn’t work! If you need help please ask. If you have sent your child to Kamp before you likly already have an account so try to sign up using that.
