The B - I - B - L - E

If you grew up when I did and you went to a Baptist Sunday School (maybe a Sunday School of any denomination), you remember the B-I-B-L-E song.

It’s a great memory.  It’s also an important memory, because the Bible is maybe even more important to us today than in the 1960’s.

Listen in as I show you some of my old Bibles, and remind you (and I) of the importance of the Bible!

Remodeling Is Underway!

Remodeling continues!

This Monday and Tuesday, workers put in the grid  for the new ceiling (see the picture), prepared the hallway floors for carpeting, and put in sound system cabling underneath the stage.

There is still a lot of work to be done!  The air conditioning ductwork needs to be extended, new lighting and fans installed, a soundbooth constructed, the stage finished, carpeting installed, and more!

We anticipate another 6-7 weeks of construction, and then we will be ready to move into our newly refreshed worship center–tentatively July 28!

There is no WAC meal or prayer meeting this week due to our Vacation Bible School. WAC will resume on June 12!

Passing on the Faith!

We love our families.

We love our church.

For both reasons, it is essential that we know how to pass on the faith to future generations.

Join Pastors Jack and Jeremy for the next three weeks as we look into key Bible passages that teach us how to pass on the faith to those we love–our children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and those children (and tomorrow’s children) in our church!

Want A Piano?

In our remodeling (and general clean-up), we have decided that we have another piano to get rid of.  This one is an upright that is admittedly not in the best shape.  It still plays, but it needs tuning and some repairs.  It would also be a great refinishing project!

We are willing to give this one away to anyone who will pick it up!

Want to Learn to Speak Spanish with other ABC Members?

Many of our members (Pastor Jack included) want to learn to speak Spanish.  God has provided a way.  One of our own members (Gabby Barrera) teaches conversational Spanish.

We’re still working out full details.  It will most likely be taught right here at ABC during the week (morning or evening TBA) and we will share the cost.  The class will begin in August.  If you are interested in a once-per-week 45 minute class, email Pastor Jack at [email protected].

Looking Forward to August!

Our church has watched many of the “Kendrick Brothers” movies in the theater, including War Room, Courageous, Fireproof, and more.  And their latest movie, “The Forge” will be out in August.

Once again, we are renting a theater at Harkins (this time at Estrella Falls) and going together!  We will make tickets available soon for the movie on Sunday evening, August 25, at 5:00 pm.

In the meantime, enjoy the trailer.  You will see some familiar faces from the previous movies!
